Install AD synchronization service

This article describes how to install the AD synchronization service.

Requirements

Before you begin installing the AD Synchronization Service, make sure that the following prerequisites are met:

– The installation file was placed in the DownloadsUploaded to the -area.

– The target computer must be running Windows Server 2016, 2019 or 2022.

Only for Windows Server 2016Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 is installed.

Here's how to download and install the AD synchronization service:

– In the Appterix Management UI, navigate to Downloads.

– Click at AD Synchronization Service at Download.

Once the download is complete, extract the compressed installation package, and then double-click the installation file. The dialog box AD Sync Service Setup is displayed.

– Click install (Install).

– Click Next (Continue) to continue.

– Specify the destination to install the AD synchronization service.

– Click Next (Continue) and accept the default location, or click on Change (Change) to specify a different location.

– Enter the required login information:

– – Enter in the field Controller URL Enter the URL of the EM Platform Server in the following format:

– – For on-premise installations: https://<ServerURL>/administration

– – For users of the cloud-based solution: https://administration.appterix.eu

– – Enter in the fields Client ID and Client Secret Enter the generated login credentials that were created by the Active Directory connector during configuration.

– Click Test Connection (Test connection).
If the connection is successful, the button will Next (Continue) accessible.

– Click Next (Continue).

– Click install (Install).
The installation of the AD synchronization service will begin. Once the installation is successfully completed, a dialog box will appear confirming the completion of the setup wizard.

– Click Finish (Complete).

The AD synchronization service was successfully installed.
