data collection from applications

Appterix offers the option of logging application starts in Application Access. These logs are visible in the journal and show which applications have been allowed and which have been blocked. However, with such logging of application starts, the data volume on the client, server and in the database can grow enormously. Appterix therefore offers the configuration of data collection.

data collection options

When configuring data collection, you have three options:

  • sammeln: Data about application starts is logged
  • Send to server: Collected data is transmitted from the client component (Appterix Agent) to the Appterix server. If you sammeln active and Send to server inactive, the data is stored on the client.
  • Hide in the agent's application journal: If you are sammeln active, data about application starts are recorded and stored on the client or, if active, Send to server to the server component in order to store this data in Journal of the server. However, if you want the Appterix Agent this data is not in Journal displayed, you can Hide in the agent's application journal deactivate.

In the standard, the sammeln deactivated and can be activated specifically.

Set up data collection at the manufacturer level

The data collection can be found at Global Acceptance List in the rider Production at the level of the respective manufacturer. This allows you to determine whether application starts from these manufacturers should be logged.

Set up data collection at product level

The data collection can be found at Global Acceptance List in the rider Products at the level of the products you define. You can determine whether application starts for these products should be logged.

Set up data collection at the file level

The data collection can be found at Global Acceptance List in the rider files at the file level. You can determine whether application starts of these files should be logged.
