Creating an encryption container
To securely protect your data from unauthorized access, Appterix offers the option of storing sensitive information in an encryption container. This file container can be encrypted using state-of-the-art AES 256 encryption or, optionally, post-quantum encryption using Kyber and YubiKey certificates.
Creating a new encryption container
To create a new encryption container, install the Appterix Agent on your IT system. Then go to Encryption and click here Create. The Create Container dialog opens. Enter the path of the container and the Name When selecting the path, the following data storage options offer corresponding advantages:
- Local file system: Secure storage of your own data
- Cloud storage: secure backup and file sharing
- Network Share: Secure file sharing within the company
- External data storage device: Secure backup, transport and sharing of files, for example between remote work and office or protected transfer of data to third parties.
Choose whether the container is encrypted with AES-256 (Standard), Kyber + AES256 (post-quantum) Or Yubikey (certificate) should be encrypted. Now enter a Password or the YubiKey including slot. This is used for secure authentication on the encryption container. A password or YubiKey can also be shared within the team when sharing the encryption container.
An existing encryption container can be opened using the button to open be called.
