Order security keys directly from Appterix

This article describes how to activate and configure the security key ordering function in Appterix management. Enabling this function allows authorized users to submit order requests for new devices directly through the management UI.

Activate and configure the ordering function

To use the ordering function, it must first be activated in the system settings and linked to a target email address.

Step-by-step instructions:

1. In the Appterix Management UI, navigate to the menu item Settings.
2. Scroll down to the section Security key order and activate the option.
3. Enter in the field Order email Enter the email address to which the system should send all future order requests.
4. (Optional) You can save default order details to save time on future orders. These include:
   • Delivery address
   • Billing Address Note: If you fill in these fields, the data will be automatically pre-filled in the future order form. However, you can still edit it at any time during the actual order process.
5. Click Save, to complete the configuration.

Create a purchase requisition

Once the function has been activated as described above, orders can be requested via the inventory. This requires that your user role authorizes you to order security keys..

Here's how to request new security keys:

1. In the Appterix Management UI, navigate to Security Key Management > InventoryThere you will see a table with all the security keys used in your organization.
2. Click on the link in the information banner displayed above. Buy Now / Find Your Size.
3. The order form will open. Please follow these steps:
   • Select the desired security key model (or multiple models) and specify the required quantity.
   • Please check or complete the order details (delivery and billing address).
   • (Optional) Under "Additional Information" you can add a comment to the order if needed.
4. Click To confirm, in order to submit the request.

Important information regarding the ordering process

After confirmation, the system simply sends an order request via email to the address stored in the settings. The actual purchase and final processing of the order take place entirely outside the Appterix system.
