YubiKey owner type management (Private/Business)

Challenge

Companies often face the challenge of distinguishing between private and company YubiKeys. Without clear labeling, this can lead to a lack of transparency and security risks.

Our solution

By configuring the YubiKey owner type, YubiKeys can be marked as "Company". If the owner type is set to "Company", the corresponding YubiKey will be automatically marked as such in the inventory.

How to manage YubiKey owner type

– In the Appterix Management UI, navigate to YubiKey Management > Inventory.

– Select the YubiKey.

– Click under the tab General the button Set as corporate.

The tag Corporate is displayed next to the YubiKey. This makes it immediately clear that it is a company-owned device, which significantly simplifies assignment and management.
